Here's a sneak peek of Ilaria's portrait lying on my desk.

You can see a small portion of the b/w photograph and the grid on it, and the tools I used (black watercolor pencil, clutch pencil, brushes). I also use a make-up brush to "clean" the paper when I use an electric eraser or just rub dust away from it - I try to avoid blowing on the paper.
I took the idea of the make-up brush from my friend (here's an example)

Ooh, so the grid is on the reference picture, but your drawing doesn't have a grid. Why a black watercolour pencil? Is it darker?

yeah my drawing has the grid, drawn with a 3H pencil very very sublty. The black watercolor pencil is darker than graphite pencils and softer than normal color pencil :nod:
I use it to obtain opaque black to use in areas like nostrils, irises, eyelashes, eyebrows, hair, etc.
